In the name of God Amen. I Richard Mucklestone of the Greenfields near the town of Shrewsbury in the county of Salop Gentleman being in perfect health and of sound mind do make this my last will and testament in manner following that is to say my will is that my body shall be decently interred in my late brothers grave in the church of st Alkmunds in Shrewsbury and that my debts and funeral expenses shall in the first place be paid and discharged Also I give devise and bequeath unto my dear and affectionate wife Sarah as well all my messuages and farm called Keele situate lying and being in the parish of Llangedwyn in the county of Denbigh in my own possession and in the holding of Humphrey Griffiths or his undertenants which said farm is settled upon my said wife for her life by way of jointure As also all those messuages, tenements, dwelling houses, lands and premises hereinafter mentioned to be situate in Porkington in the parish of Sellatin and in Oswestry in the said county of Salop and all other my real estate of what nature or kind so ever in possession and not in reversion remainder or ?expertany? to hold unto my said dear wife and her assigns for and during the term of her natural life subject to the weekly payment hereafter mentioned and after her decease I give and devise all that my said tenement and farm called Keele subject to the like weekly payment unto my faithful and worthy friend John Griffiths of Bicton in the said county of Salop Esquire and his assigns for and during his natural life and after his decease I give and devise the same tenement and premises unto my Godson Thomas Griffiths eldest son and heir of the said John Griffiths his heirs and assigns forever which last mentioned messuages I did intend to have devised to my cousin John Edwards Esquire had not his ungrateful behaviour toward me indured me to alter my intentions also my will is that all my said messuages tenement and farm called or known by the name of Tyroath situate and being in Porkington aforesaid now in the holding or occupation of Morris to give his undertenants or assigns shall after the decease of my said dear wife remain subject to bequest devise and other disposition as I shall hereinafter make thereof Also I give and devise all those of those dwelling houses situate and being in the Cross Street of Oswestry aforesaid with a piece of land near adjoining to the walls of the said town called *** *** in the holding of Nathaniel Jones and his undertenants assigns from and immediately after the decease of my said dear wife unto John Muckleston son and heir of my cousin John Muckleston late of Merrington Gentleman deceased his heirs and assigns forever and my will is that in case my said wife should die during the infancy of the said John Muckleston that my said friend John Griffiths and his heirs should immediately after her decease enter upon and *** the rents issues and profits of the said last mentioned premises not withstanding the devise last mentioned until the said John Muckleston shall attain to his age of twenty one years and retain the said profits in his and their own hands for the benefit of the said John Muckleston and shall arrive at his age aforesaid and not sooner and my will further is that the said last mentioned dwelling house land and premises shall be chargeable and I do hereby charge the same with the due payment of all principle and interest money due and to *** due to my daughter in law Sarah Muckleston her executors or administrators by virtue of any mortgage bond note or other security to her *** assigned or given and to which she is entitled by from or under the said John Muckleston deceased in and only of such security and for the more effortous payment of all such principal and interest Also I devise and bequeath all that my said dwelling house situate in Cross Street in Oswestry aforesaid leased to Andrew Barnett deceased with the Malt House thereunto adjoining in the holding of Evans and also two paires of land near unto the church of Oswestry aforesaid in the holding of Henry Jones his assigns or undertenants from and after the decease of my said dear wife unto my cousin *** Powell Widow and Relict of Mr Richard Powell late of Oswestry aforesaid and her assigns during the term of her natural life and from and after her decease I give and devise the same unto her son Mr John Edwards and the heirs of his body lawfully issuing and in default of such issue unto *** Edwards spinster sister of the said John Edwards her heirs and assigns forever Also I devise and bequeath all those several messuages lands tenements hereditament and real estates of what nature or kind soever except as hereafter is mentioned which were late the estates of my said cousin John Muckleston deceased and were by him devised to me in case the said John Muckleston did not attain the age of twenty one years unto my cousin Richard Muckleston of Cheapside London Linen Draper his heirs and assigns forever subject to the contingency aforesaid Also I give and devise all that dwelling house with the appurtenances situate in Castle Street in Shrewsbury aforesaid in the possession of Mr Thomas Blakeway or his assigns being part of the said real estate of the said John Muckleston deceased to me devised as aforesaid to him the said Thomas Blakeway and his assigns for and during the term of his natural life and after his decease I devise the same to his son Thomas Blakeway the younger his heirs and assigns forever and my will is that my said messuage and premises by me devised to my said dear wife for life and after her decease my said farm called Keele shall be chargeable and I do hereby charge the same with the payment of two shillings and sixpence weekly to my sister Ann during the term of her natural life the first of the said weekly payments to be made on the Saturday next following my decease and on every Saturday in each week during her natural life the said weekly payment not being given out of affection but only intended as a subsistence for my said sister and to prevent her becoming chargeable on the parish and a further scandal to her relations Also I give and devise unto my cousin Richard Muckleston and his heirs all that messuages and farm and premises situate and being in the said parish of Oswestry called or known by the name of Pen y Lan and all other the real estate whatsoever which were late the estates of my Grandfather Richard Muckleston deceased and by him settled on his eldest son my late uncle Richard Muckleston deceased and all my right and interest therein and thereto in reversion remainder and ?expertanty? Also I give and bequeath unto my said dear wife all and singular my household goods implements of household linen goods cattle and chattels plate ready money and sureties for money and all other my personal estate of what nature or kind soever to hold to my said dear wife her executors and administrators for ever And lastly I do appoint my said dear wife sole executrix of this my last will and testament and do desire the favour of my said worthy friend John Griffiths Esquire to advise and assist my said wife in the execution of this my will.
