Transcription of the will:-

This is the last will and testament of me John Corbet Mucklestonof Lawley House Smethcott Leebotwood in the county of Shropshire.

1. I hereby revoke all former wills and testamentary dispositions heretofore made by me and declare this to be my last will

2. I appoint my dear wife Dorothy Amy Muckleston and Peter Watts James of Newton Chambers 43 Cannon Street in the city of Birmingham Solicitor (hereinafter called my trustees) to be the executors and trustees of this my will.

3. I give and bequeath to each of them my niece Hazel Dorothy Astley the daughter of Kenneth Loade Astley and my godson Robert Ernest Sylvanus Gray of Sherwood Cliff Avenue Swanage in the county of Dorset the legacy or sum of fifty pounds free of duty.

4. Provided that my said wife shall survive me by the space of one month I give devise and bequeath all the rest and residue of my estate and effects subject to the due payment of all just debts funeral and testamentary expenses unto my said wife Dorothy Amy Muckleston absolutely.

5. In the event of my said wife not surviving me for the period aforesaid then I give devise and bequeath all my said estate and effects subject to the payment of my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses to my said niece Hazel Dorothy Astley absolutely provided that if my said niece shall die in my lifetime leaving issue who shall survive me and who being male shall attain the age of twenty one years or being female shall attain that age or marry under that age such issue shall take and if more than one equally between them the said residuary estate which my said niece would have taken if she had lived to attain a vested interest

6. I declare that any trustee of this my will being a solicitor or other persons engaged in any profession or business may be so employed or act and shall be entitled to charge and be paid free of duty all professional or other charges for any business or act done by him or his firm in connection with the trusts hereof including acts which a trustee could have done personally.

Transcript of the Will:-

This is the last Will and testament of me Dorothy Amy Muckleston of 6 Abbeyfield House Holyhead Road Telford Shropshire Widow

1. I revoke all Wills Codicils and Testamentary Dispositions heretofore made by me

2. I appoint Robin Mostyn ap Cynan of 17 Swan Hill Shrewsbury Shropshire Solicitor and Peter Raymond Dallow of the Coppice Elmdon Park Solihull West Midlands B92 9EJ (hereinafter together called my Trustees which expression shall include the trustees for the time being hereof) to be the Executors and Trustees of this my Will

3. I give the following pecuniary legacies:-

a) the sum of One thousand pounds to the said Peter Raymond Dallow absolutely providing he acts as executor

b) the sum of Two thousand pounds to my brother Kenneth Loade Astley of 6 Heywood Lonsdale Court Glebe Street Wellington aforesaid and absolutely but I direct that if he shall fail to survive me then my sister in law Dorothy Astley of the same address shall take in substitution for my said brother absolutely

c) the sum of Two thousand pounds to my said sister in law Dorothy Astley of 6 Heywood Lonsdale Court Glebe Street Wellington aforesaid and absolutely

d) the sum of five hundred pounds to Jean Theodore Crosley of the White House 2 Finchmead Lane Stroud Petersfield Hampshire GU32 3PF

e) the sum of one thousand pounds to the Vicar and Churchwardens for the time being of the Parish of Cound for the maintenance of the fabric of Cound Parish Church and the receipt of the said Vicar and Churchwardens shall be a sufficient charge to my Trustees

f) the sum of Five hundred pounds to the National Trust for England and Wales of 42 Queen Annes Gate London SW1H 9AS for the general purposes of the said Trust and the receipt of the Treasurer or other proper officer of the Trust shall be a sufficient discharge to my Trustees

g) the sum of Five hundred pounds to the Council for the Protection of Rural England of 4 Hobart Place London SW1 0HY for its general purposes and the receipt of the Treasurer or other proper officer of the Council shall be a sufficient discharge to my Trustees

h) the sum of One thousand pounds to Age Concern England (the National Old Peoples Welfare Council) of Room LSG 60 Pitcairn Road Mitcham Surrey CR4 3LL for its general purposes and the receipt of the Treasurer or other proper officer of such Charity shall be a sufficient discharge to my Trustees

i) the sum of One thousand pounds to Doctor Barnados of Tanners Lane Barkingside Illford Essex for the general purpose of such charity and the receipt of the Treasurer or other proper officer of such Charity shall be a sufficient discharge to my Trustees

j) the sum of Five hundred pounds to Abbeyfield Wrekin Society Limited of Abbeyfield House Holyhead Road Wellington aforesaid and I direct that the receipt of the Treasurer or other proper officer of such Society shall be a sufficient discharge to my Trustees

k) the sum of One thousand pounds to the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children of 67 Saffron Hill London EC1N 8RS and I direct that the receipt of the Treasurer or other proper officer of such Society shall be sufficient discharge to my Trustees

l) the sum of one thousand pounds to the National Society for Cancer Relief of 30 Dorset Square London NW1 6QL for its general purposes and the receipt of the Treasurer or other proper officer of such Society shall be a sufficient discharge to my Trustee

m) the sum of One thousand pounds to the Leukaemia Research Fund of 43 Great Ormond Street London WC1 for its general purposes and the receipt of the Treasurer or other proper officer of such Charity will be a sufficient discharge to my Trustees

n) the sum of One thousand pounds to the Leonard Cheshire Home at Sandbach Cheshire for its general purposes and the receipt of the Treasurer or other proper officer of such Charity shall be a sufficient discharge to my Trustees

4. I give my Vineyard Wall Clock to David George of the School House Cound Shropshire absolutely

5. I give the sum of Two hundred pounds for the benefit of the residents of Abbeyfield House Holyhead Road Wellington aforesaid at the date of my death

6. I give the Muckleston Family Pedigree to the Shropshire County Archivist

7. Subject to the payment of my debts funeral and testamentary expenses and any Inheritance Tax payable in respect of my Estate and subject also to the provision of the above gifts I give the residue of my Estate both real and personal (including any property over which I may have a general power of appointment or disposition by Will) to be divided into three equal parts to be held upon trust as follows:-

i) as to two of the said parts for my niece Hazel Margaret Astley of 14 Melton Grove Street Willowdale Ontario M2R 269 Canada absolutely But I direct that if my said niece shall fail to survive me then to be divided equally between the ten institutions hereinbefore mentioned in Clause 3(e) to 3(n) inclusive hereof and I direct that the receipt of the Treasurer or other proper officer of each such Institution shall be a sufficient discharge to my Trustees

ii) as to one of the said parts to be divided between such of my said brother Kenneth Loade Astley and my said sister in law Dorothy Astley as shall survive me and if more than one then in equal shares and absolutely but I direct that if they shall both predecease me then to be divided equally between the ten institutions hereinbefore mentioned in Clause 3(e) to 3(n) inclusive hereof and I direct that the receipt of the Treasurer or other proper officer of each Institution shall be a sufficient discharge to my Trustees

8. Any person acting as Executor or Trustee of this my Will who is an Accountant Solicitor or other professional or business man may charge and be paid all usual professional and other fees for work done by him or his firm in connection with proving my Will and carrying out its trusts including work outside the ordinary course of his profession or business and wok which he could or should have done personally had he not been a professional or business man

9. I wish my body to be cremated and for my funeral service to be held at Cound Parish Church Shropshire
