In William D Reid Marriage Notices of Ontario - page 149 was Marriage of Samuel Muckleston of frontenac in 1838.

A Samuel Muckleston appears on Passenger and Immigration Lists Boston 1821-1850.

Age 36, Occupation Merchant. Arrival Date: 18 March 1845. Country of Origin Kingston. (this would suggest he was born in 1809!)

From the Kingston Daily News (Canada) 29 March 1873.

Re the death of Samuel Muckleston

"Another good man is gone, one universally esteemed and revered; one to whome the widow and orphan never appealed in vain; one to whose unostentatious charity and benevolence were confined in no narrow sectarian bounds...." His name was "well known among business men over the dominion as A1. .... (His) probity and integrity were unimpeachable". He was an officer in the 1st Frontenac (Regt.) during the rebellion (of 1837-8). He was a devout member and for many years churchwarden of St Georges cathedral Kingston and active in Synod.

Miss E Muckleston, aunt of Hugh Muckleston and Mrs H Ritchie, former residents ofLeithbridge, died in Ottawa in her 90th year. She was a member of an old time Kingston family. She was a life member of the National Council of Women.

She was a witness to the wedding of Charles W Walton (a farmer) and Ellie S Franks at Picton, Canada on Feb 26th 1889 at this time it was stated that she was of Kingston, Canada.
