Transcript of the Will:-

This is the last Will and Testament of me Sarah Muckleston of Meole Brace in the county of Salop Widow I direct that all my just debts funeral and testamentary expensesshall be first paid I appoint my nephew Edward Montgomery Williams executor and Trustee of my Will I give and bequeath the sum of one hundred pounds each to the children of my late sister Eliza Williams namely Sarah Johnson John Williams Eliza Berkenshaw Frederic Williams and Edward Montgomery Williams And I give one hundred pounds to the child or children of my late nephew Venables Williams who shall be living at my decease if more than one in equal shares I direct that all the before mentioned legacies shall be paid in full out of my estate in priority to the legacies and bequests hereinafter mentioned I bequeath my pencil drawings of Shintern Abbey and A Moonlight View to Ella Hughes of Meole Brace I bequeath the portrait of my late husband and also all paintings in my possession done by him to Ellen Jane Muckleston niece of my said late husband I bequeath my silver cream jug to John Short Muckleston nephew of my said husband I bequeath my gold watch and chain and my gold mourning brooch to Harriet Loucke niece of my said husband I bequeath three of my desert spoons to each of my said husbands nieces Emily Muckleston and Annie Muckleston I bequeath my silver gravy spoon and two small silver desert spoons to Charlotte Emma Tizard niece of my said husband I bequeath all my wearing apparel to the said Ellen Jane Muckleston and Mary Eliza Williams daughter of my nephew John Williams I give and bequeath the following legacies namely to my niece Cecily Newton the sum of Forty pounds To my Niece Annie Tecling the sum of Forty pounds To my niece Emily Venables the sum of Twenty pounds To the said Mary Eliza Williams the sum of Twenty pounds To the said Ellen Jane Muckleston the sum of Forty poundsand to the said Edward Montgomery Williams wether he shall accept the office of executor and trustee under this my Will or not the sum of Forty pounds in addition to the previous legacy of One hundred pounds I give devise and bequeath all the residue of my real and personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever to the said Ellen Jane Muckleston the said Mary Eliza Williams and Montgomery Williams son of the said Edward Montgomery Williams absolutely in equal shares as tenants in common And hereby empower my said Trustee to sell all or any part of my real and personal estate (except the articles hereinbefore mentionedand bequeathed ) if he in his discretion shall think fit for the purpose of paying my debts funeral and testamentary expenses and the legacies hereby bequeathed Lastly I revoke all former Wills In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this thirty first day of August One thousand eight hundred and ninety four

On the eighth day of September 1897 Probate of this Will was granted at Shrewsbury to Edward Montgomery Williams the Sole Executor
