In the name of God Amen.

I John Muckleston, in the township of Trefonnen, in the parish of Oswestry, in the county of Salop, being weak in body, but of perfect mind and memory, thanks be to God; therefore calling into mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this, my last will and testament.

That is to say first of all I recommend and give my soul unto the almighty hands of God that gave it, and my body to the earth, to be buried in decent christian manner at the discretion of my executors, nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same by the might power of God and touching such estate it has pleased God to bless me in this life, I give, devise and dispose in the following manner and form.

First I give to my son John Muckleston the sum of five shillings, of lawful money of England to be raised out of my estate. Also I give to Edward my son the sum of five shillings in like manner. I give to my daughter Elinor the sum of five shillings. Also I give to my beloved wife Elinor and Ann my daughter whom I make and ordain my soul executors of this my last will and testament, all and every goods of my property at present by them to be possessed and enjoyed.

And I do hereby utterly disallow, revoke and discount all and every other wills and testaments, legacies and bequests and executors, by me in any ways before named, willed and bequeathed ratifying and confirming, this, my last will and testament.

In witness whereof I have hereunto put my hand and seal this twenty third day of January one thousand seven hundred and eighty four.

I further ordain that after the death of my wife Elinor that my daughter Ann possess the whole of my estate.

The written name Elinor one of the benefactors of this will took the usual oath of an executor that the personal estate of the testator for John Muckleston did not amount to the sum of twenty pounds at the time of his death in the best of her knowledge and belief.
